Hi. I'd love to get Broadcast power up and running, but I'm very confused and not very technical. I just want to run it on onc PC for both manual and auto playout in my studio. I have tried installing and either cannot login or when I can it says it cannot find the instance. Does anyone have an idiots guide to simple installation on one PC . I have downloaded SQL 2005 and the latest BP. Have tried various ways of installing and configuring. Please help a desperate man! Thankyou.

RE: Very confused!

Hi,

You need to run two applications in sequence otherwise you won't be able to login.

The first application to run is the remote player host.

The second application to run is the Win UI or the application that presents you with the login dialog box.

Application 2 talks to application 1.
Application 2 is the one that has the login dialog box.
Application 2 is the UI that you interact with to automate, configure, or run in assisted mode.
Application 1 is the application that plays out the audio.

Also, you can check the log files to see what the application thinks is wrong.

Thankyou for your reply. I

Thankyou for your reply. I now have the software running and can log in using the default administrator (123)....so I am getting somewhere. Now I'm trying to work out how to load my library of MP3 songs into Broadcast power. Is it also possible to route the audio output of the players into different sound cards, as I intend to take 3 outputs from a multi sound card into a mixing desk. Sorry for all the questions, but your help is much appreciated. I love the look of the software.

RE: 3 outputs

For loading your mp3 files, check out the tutorials (video) and help. You can download the help file in CHM and search for what you are trying to do to read more on the subject.

As for sending output to more than one sound card, that is possible. You have had to do this during instllation. If you haven't, then you will have to change the config files manually to set the output sound cards.

Unfortunatley, you can only have 2 output cards running concurently. Mixing occurs in software for more than one audio file playing to a single audio card. You can switch between output cards by selecting the output (PFL / Main) from the toolbar.

You can switch cards for commercials, jingles, and songs.

All the info you need is available in the help file or online here: http://www.bp2x.com/Broadcast Power Help Links.
