Error installing SQL (locked file)

Did you have SQL installed before and is there any other application running that uses that locked file?

You could try the following process first:
1) When SQL installer fails, restart the computer in safe mode
2) Login to safe mode as the Administrator
3) In File Explorer right click on the c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server directory. Change the permissions to full control for all administrators
4) Restart into normal mode and login as Administrator
5) Re-run the installation, without uninstalling the failed installation

If that fails:
1) Restart the computer in safe mode
2) Login to safe mode as the Administrator
3) In File Explorer delete the folder c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server directory
4) Restart into normal mode and login as Administrator
5) Re-run the installation

Please note that you shouldn't delete directories or change permissions on a production system, unless you understand what you are doing.

Also, make sure to change the directories to match the location where you are installing SQL server.

If you are deleting files and folders, makes sure no other application is using them first.

Thank you

Thank you very very very very match...Now i installing SQL Server :)

RE: Safe Mode

While your system is rebooting, press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

SQL 2005 Error

Are you installing SQL 2005 or is the BP2X installer attempting to set it up for you?

At what point during the installation do you get this error?

Please describe the steps you have taken to get this error and if possible, send me any log files.
