The graphical editor allows you to drag audio files, left an right, to change their temporal location on the screen.
The automation rules allow you to set the mixing style and duration of mix in and mix out for a song. when the system randomly picks a song, based on your rules, it will apply these mix settings.
Further, you can set the overlap for a particular program element by changing its start time, overlapping with a previous element.
Click on "Players" menu tab. Then click the "Automate" button, has a gear icon, next to the one with the hand icon.
The automate button will play the scheduled programs, when it is time for them to playback. Make sure your computer clock is synchronized and updated and make sure you have a program for the time you are automating for.
When you set the mix in time for a program element rule, it is only used when automating that program element.
In other words, if you have a program element which has a link to an audio file, then you do not need to apply a rule for it. It is fixed.
But if your program element doesn't have a link to a song or jingle or commercial, then the program element rule applies. When BP2X goes in automation mode, it will read the element, figure out that it has no link, then it reads its rules and tries to apply them in order to select a song and use it.
What I would do is create a program element that is as long as the actual program (say an hour long). Then I would add a rule with say a mix in of 5 seconds, a mix out of 3 seconds, and 50 or 60 jingles per 100 songs. Then I would set filters or rule properties to select, as an example, songs where style is "ROCK", or "POP ROCK", or "INDIE ROCK".
So to answer your question, concisely, each program element entry can accept a rule, but the rule is only used when there is no song associated with that program element.
RE: Mix Points
Mix points are set in two main functional areas of the application:
1. Graphical Program Element Editor

2. Program Element Rules (Automation rules)

Another Question.
After I click generate playlist, how do I get it to play in that order on the decks?

Alternatively, you can click on the "Queue" button and then load the scheduled program to play it back manually.

When I set the Mix time in
When I set the Mix time in the Program Element Rules (Automation rules) do I have to add it to every audio file in that list?
