This issue of BP2X newlsetter brings with it news on the latest update, 2.5.4.4.

I will be explaining the new updates and bug fixes that have gone into this latest release.

Also, some hints on using the campaign scheduler will be given.

Announcement!

Version 2.5.4.4 of Broadcast Power 2x has been released and is available to all users.

Get it today from the downloads section of my website.

What's new in 2.5.4.4, another plugin engine?
This release has one new major feature and five bug fixes, which I'm sure will appeal to most.

As with the main server component, RemotePlayerHost, the WinUI now has plugin capabilities. You can enhance Broadcast Power by adding plugins with user interfaces. Soon, I will release an updated documentation on the plugins interface that you, as a developer, need to implement to create new functionality in Broadcast Power.
For those of you who are not into programming, you can simply sit back and enjoy the added functionality.

The first WinUI plugin that ships with version 2.5.4.4 implements an export engine that will take commercials between two dates and converts them to one of StationPlaylist's text formats.

You can copy the text that is generated and save it to file using whatever text editor you may be using.

This plugin was written in less than an hour, and because I don't have a StationPlaylist copy, I didn't get a chance to test it. Please report any bugs to me on the support forum section of bp2x.com.

Bug Fix: Error 1001 when copying schedules to the last day in a grid
when grids are created, the date to hour component value was being set 12:00 AM on the day when it should have been set to 23:59:59:999.

This now fixed in this release.

Other bug fixes:
Campaign scheduler date selection.
Copy/Paste in campaign scheduler.
A stored procedure.

How to use the campaign scheduler from scratch?
In order to use the campaign scheduler, you will have to do some preparation work first.

1. Create your Grid, Schedule, Program, and Program Elements.

2. You should have a few Program Elements of type commercial. You either create them one by one or use the generate commercial spots menu option of a Program or Schedule.

3.
Create one or more Media entries of type Ad or Commercial.

4. Create a customer.

5. Create an order and then a campaign and assign commercials to it (at least one).

6. Now you're ready to use the campaign scheduler.

Use the space bar, after highlighting a cell, to start editing, then use the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to increase the number of occurences of this ad in a particular spot. Click Enter to confirm your entry. Alternatively, you can use the mouse.

Always remember to save your changes.

Following newsletter will explain more about the campaign scheduler and some of the advanced features, namely the Bulk Copy.
