Broadcast Power 2.5.2 now with a server plugins module added.

This new plugins framework comes with our first free plugin to upload an html file
to your website with the details of the currently playing media file. Try it today.

Minor changes to the UI

The remote player host user interface (RemotePlayerHost.exe) changed with the introduction
of the ribbon menu and the plugins items. From this new menu you can control the
loading of plugins and review any error messages. We will be adding more menu items
to give you finer control over the plugins. This is planned for version 2.5.3.

The first time you run the remote host player program, it will attempt to load the
plugins from the plugins directory. Plugins are simply code libraries with special
classes, providing additional functionality to the application. We will be releasing
tutorials to assist you in developing your own plugins.

With the default plugin that comes with version 2.5.2 of Broadcast Power, you can
show the visitors of your website the details of the media file you are playing.
As soon as you load a media file in any of the players and start playing it, the
plugin will read the details of the media file from the database and update a template
html file. Then, it will upload the resulting html file to a configurable ftp server.

The plugin will display a configuration screen for you with certain variables. The
value you assign to these variables will be used to create a configuration file.
Alternatively, you can create the configuration file using a text editor. Here's
how this file looks like.

The template used to generate the output html file is an html file with special
tags.

The output before running through the plugin looks like this.

So, {%SongName%} will be replaced with the currently playing song name, as defined
in the media database.

The same transformation applies to {%Performer%} and {%Album%}.

Write us your suggestions on what variables you would like to see replaced by this
plugin and we'll attempt to add them in the coming releases.

As you can also see from the snapshots below, we've added a date and time display
above the players in the main user interface window (WinUI.exe).

Try it today!
