Recently, I got a few reports of issues installing under Windows Vista or 7.

I haven’t tried to install my application under Windows 7 but have tried a few times on Windows Vista, which I’m guessing is very similar to 7.

On these couple of instances, the installer copied the files correctly but when you run the application, it fails. The reason it fails is that the user that runs the application has to have write access to the directory so that the application can write the log files.

If you reconfigure the logging to save the file to a directory where the user has read/write access, then it should work.

Now the next issue I faced was with registration. Under Vista, you need to register the application the first time as Administrator so that the license file can be created in the application directory. Then you need to change the security settings of that license file to give users read/write access.

On windows 7 I can't even go

On windows 7 I can't even go farther than the license key nag screen... It say that system can't find valid license key.
I tried every possible solution, it's really a nightmare: save the key file in every folder, allow write access, set compatibility mode, everything... too bad that I cant even try this application that seemed so full of promises... :((

Windows 7

Hi Rael,

Windows 7 has similar security measures as Windows Vista. You definitely need to run the application as Administrator. By Administrator I don't mean a user with administrative privileges, I mean you have to right click on the application executable and select "Run As".
If you still have issues, send me an email using the contact us link and I will help you online to get started.

Cheers,
